There’s been lots of excitement this week for Blizzard fans, and Marvel/Deadpool fans alike, so let’s take a look at what everyone’s been talking about this week…

Some of the biggest news this week comes out of Gamescon in Germany. On Thursday, Blizzard announced the new World of Warcraft expansion – Legion. Some of the highlights of the sixth WoW expansion include:

  • A new hero class – Demon Hunters (I am so excited for Demon Hunters, ahhh!!!).
  • Artifacts customizable weapons that will increase in power with you.
  • The Broken Isles – a new continent.
  • Class-specific Order Halls.

Of course that’s not all, you can read more about the expansion, watch the trailer, or the entire archived live-stream from Gamescon by heading to the Legion website (do it, everything looks incredible!). A date has yet to be set for the expansion, but beta is said to begin later this year, with rumours of release in early 2016.

20th Century Fox FINALLY released the Deadpool trailer this week after showing it at SDCC and it was well worth the wait. There are two versions, of course, but all anyone can talk about is the Red Band trailer which you can watch below – watch it, it’s okay…I’ll wait….

….You watched it right? Okay… HOW AWESOME WAS THAT?! Do I really even need to write anything else about the trailer? No? Okay…just go watch it again.

The Hollywood Reporter announced this week that Colin Farrell has joined the Harry Potter spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It’s reported that he will be playing Graves a wizard that crosses paths with main character, Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Radmayne) in New York while on his quest to learn and document magical creatures. The film is set for release in late 2016. (via The Hollywood Reporter)

In celebration of Lumberjanes‘ two big Eisner Award wins at SDCC, Boom! Studios is releasing a special hardcover edition of the first arc of the Lumberjanes series – Lumberjanes To The Max! The hardcover collection will feature the first eight issues of the series, Rad Mix Playlists, an introduction to Eisner Award winning cartoonist Raina Telgemeier and tons more. Lumberjanes fans, you’ll be able to get your hands on Lumberjanes To The Max! in November. (via ComicsAlliance)

That’s it for this week! I’ll be posting more in the coming weeks, including a Comics For… post to start off IGGPPCamp over on the +5 Charisma blog. I also started a Facebook Page and I’d appreciate it if you’d check it out, and like it….you know, if you wanna…that would be nice of you.

  1. I’m so excited for Legion! This is the most excited I’ve been for a new WoW expansion since WotLK I think. I hope it can live up to everything I’m hoping for it! I’m also excited about everything that was announced for Heroes of the Storm at GamesCom: new heroes, new map, re-working of Hero League. There has just been so much awesome/drool-worthy news this past week!

    <3 and harp strings,

      1. Oh my gosh Demon Hunters… so much yes! I can’t wait to try them out, although I’ll probably just reserve my name and then wait for the zone to die down a bit first and level up my main. I remember how bad it was when DK’s came out so I can only imagine what this will be like!

  2. And we got a release date for “Ready Player One” directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the great gamer novel from Ernest Cline. December 15, 2017.
