Fangirl Favourites – September 2015

Can you believe September is over already? Personally, I’m excited – fall is my favourite season and October means HALLOWEEN!!!! Ahem, sorry I didn’t mean to yell…but more on what I have in store for October in my next post. For now, let’s check out what I’ve been fangirling over in September:

Narcos

Narcos is a new Netflix original series about the Medellín drug cartel and the Colombian drug trade kingpin Pablo Escobar. This series is amazing, and in my opinion up there in quality with HBO. Much like an HBO series, each episode you’ll find yourself experiencing just about every emotion imaginable – excitement, disgust, anger, sadness, more anger…but that roller-coaster of emotion is definitely worth it. If you’ve seen and liked the movie Blow with Johnny Depp, I think you’ll definitely like Narcos. I still have two episodes left, so if you’ve finished it…NO SPOILERS!

You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) – Felicia Day

This month I read Felicia Day’s book You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) and it was SO GOOD. Felicia Day wrote this so well that I found myself hearing her voice in my head as I read it; as if she were reading it to me. Its funny, and honest and just everything you expect from Felicia Day, really. I definitely recommend this book to Felicia Day fans, gamers, and geek girls alike.

Hogwarts House Book Sets by Juniper Books

Okay, so HAVE YOU SEEN THESE HARRY POTTER BOOK SETS?! They are BEAUTIFUL. All of the sets are stunning, but I’m particularly drawn to the Ravenclaw set (I may be biased because I’m a Ravenclaw). Oh, what I would give for a set of these…but alas, with a $275.00 price tag I’ll stick to admiring them from my Tumblr page.

Plum Paper Designs Life Planners

In the last few weeks I’ve realized that my trusty day planner isn’t cut out for serious planning; at least not life AND blog planning. As a result I’ve been on the hunt for a new one with a few more organization options than my super basic planner provides. I’ve come across quite a few that I love, but all of them came with insane price tags, until I found Plum Paper Designs on Etsy. All of their planners are custom made, and there are tons of options for you to add things like: a monthly bill tracker, checklists and to-do lists, a blog planning section, even a fitness tracker! I will most likely be purchasing this one as my 2016 planner, with a few add-ons.The best part is, despite doing a fair bit of customization the planner I want will still be significantly cheaper and better suited to my needs than all of those expensive planners out there.

…because I finally watched all the Hunger Game movies for the first time ever this month (yeah, yeah, I’m late).

That’s it for this month! As always, let me know in the comments below what you’ve be obsessing over in September, and I’ll see you next month with more Fangirl Favourites.
