So…it’s December. What?! When did that happen?! I feel like I’ve been saying that a lot this year, but seriously…it’s almost Christmas. Where has the time gone? Is this a product of getting older – time just vanishes? Anyways…enough of that.
November was a pretty overwhelming month for me, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have favourites! Let’s check out what I’ve been loving in November:
Adorabelles – Nic ter Horst
I LOVE pin-ups. Anything 50’s-inspired, really but Nic ter Horst took it to a whole new level with Adorabelles. There are three volumes of Adorabelles available here, and you can watch a flip-through of volume 3 below:
Abby Gundersen – Aurora
Abby Gundersen is an absolute force-to-be-reckoned-with. Her instrumentals are incredible, and this album is by far her best work to date. Listen to Aurora below:
Everyone has been watching Jessica Jones this month, but I had to mention it. This show is SO GOOD, I actually preferred it over Daredevil. I don’t even know what else to say about it – it just covers all the bases. It has a lot of strong female characters, tackles difficult issues in a realistic way and still manages to keep its Marvel sass. If you haven’t watched it yet, this needs to be your next Netflix binge.
The Mighty Thor #1
The Mighty Thor has our new Thor tackling some very real health problems. The fact that a comic, especially a superhero comic is taking a very raw approach to a devastating illness is amazing. I’m not going to spoil anything here, but you absolutely need to read the new Thor, starting with last years run and moving on to The Mighty Thor – I love it, and I even got my dad to read it issue-to-issue.
GIF of the Month
The world’s cutest polar bear.
That’s it for this month’s favourites. Let me know in the comments what you’ve been loving this month, and if you’ve been watching Jessica Jones let me know what you think.
